Customer Review: Untastefully under pressure
This is my first pressure cooker, although I am a very experienced "make from scratch" cook. Subsequently,I have followed each recipe from this cookbook exactly. I have thrown away 5/7 recipes I made from this cookbook. In my household we are very adventurous and non-picky eaters. Many of these recipes are fairly labor intensive in their preparation ie: the Mediterranean Chicken and Orzo Pilaf:I had to throw it away: the flavors were all wrong. Other "memorable" recipes: one with shrimp (the shrimp was totally mushy/ overcooked) and the "Quick and Easy Steak Stew" was literally "too quick": it said, after browning the meat, etc. to bring to pressure and cook for 4 minutes. The meat was tough/ inedible and after looking in the cookbook that came with the pressure cooker, I discovered that stews take 15/20 min generally. I love my Fagor Duo Pressure Cooker , but will no longer use this cookbook. I do not recommend this cookbook, especially not for a Beginner.
